Standards of Care

  • At Hess Physical Therapy, after the initial evaluation, you will receive a detailed explanation summarizing our recommended treatment program. In addition, patients are provided access to the Hess Physical Therapy online medical library, Frequently Asked Questions, & videos to assist you with understanding the benefits of working with us.
  • Whether you come to our clinic with or without a prescription, the physical therapists at Hess Physical Therapy will communicate with your physician to facilitate collaborative care.
  • Upon completion of care, Hess Physical Therapy patients are surveyed by the #1 independent physical therapy quality assurance agency (FOTO). This provides important data on patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Hess Physical Therapy is a member of the Physical Therapy Provider Network (PTPN). PTPN is a selective network that requires members to adhere to rigorous peer reviewed quality standards. Only a small number of therapy clinics meet the requirements to qualify for the PTPN.
  • At Hess Physical Therapy, patients don’t need to worry about being passed off to an unlicensed aide on their follow-up visits. At Hess Physical Therapy, patients will work one-on-one with our skilled, licensed practitioners EVERY visit.
  • At Hess Physical Therapy, waiting is viewed as a major inconvenience – unacceptable to you and to us. Time spent in the reception area shouldn’t exceed 5 minutes, except in rare situations. A therapist’s time is not worth more than yours. In fact, if waiting exceeds 10 minutes from the scheduled appointment, we will buy you dinner.
  • At Hess Physical Therapy, all therapists are required to obtain a Certificate of Authorization for a Direct Access License in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Hess Physical Therapy requires all therapists obtain 40 hours of state approved continuing education credits…that’s double the minimum required.
  • Hess Physical Therapy advocates Direct Access care. Direct Access leaves the decision to the patient of when to seek care, and from which approved provider they can choose. Direct Access assures patients can begin care without waiting for a referral, speeding up recovery and pain relief. However, it is our policy to collaborate with a patient’s physician about his/her care.
  • At Hess Physical Therapy, all care is supervised by the Senior Therapist that has special training in specific conditions. For more specific information, see our staff bios here.
  • Hess Physical Therapy is an active participant in the American Physical Therapy Association’s Hooked On Evidence program. This assures new research is incorporated as it becomes available.
